HLTAID014 PROVIDE ADVANCED FIRST AID

Advanced First Aid Course. To book this course, please scrol to the bottom page and select the venue of your choice to book in.This course is for anyone who may be required to provide advanced first aid response to a casualty in line with first aid guidelines determined by the Australian Resuscitation Council and other Australian national peak clinical bodies. It applies to all persons who may be required to provide advanced first aid response in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.

This course allows you develop the skills on how to provide advanced first aid, first aid, CPR, basic emergency life support, manage a casualty and use a defibrillator until the arrival of medical or other assistance. Our advanced first aid course includes the content of provide first aid (HLTAID011), provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation (HLTAID009) and provide basic emergency life support (HLTAID010).

HLTAID014 PROVIDE ADVANCED FIRST AID

Certification Issued

On successful completion of the course, students are awarded a statement of attainment in:

– Provide Advanced First Aid HLTAID014
– Provide First Aid HLTAID011
– Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation HLTAID009
– Provide Basic Emergency Life Support HLTAID010

Statement of attainments are issued on the day of the course to learners found competent. (Same day certificate)

Entry requirements

Learners will be required to pass a basic language, literacy and numeracy test before confirmation of enrolment or immediately prior to commencing the training. Learners must also be able to do CPR on the floor, including kneeling down and performing chest compressions.

Course Duration

This course takes one day (approximately 9 hours). Face to Face delivery only and students are sent pre-reading prior to attendance.

This course is nationally accredited, recognised and workplace accepted. Refresher courses are also available to holders of certificates about to expire.

Theory contentsOur theory covers the legal aspects of First aid, Victim assessment, respiration and circulation, resuscitation, shock, asthma, fainting, anaphylaxis, cardiac and medical conditions, choking, drowning, hyperventilation, traumatic injury, overexposure to heat and cold, workplace first aid, bites and stings, poisoning signs of life, aftercare, first aid triage, life threatening bleeding, vital signs, moving casualties using extrication and immobilisation devices etc.

Practical contentCPR/Resuscitation, Bandaging, slings and splints, micro sessions scenarios, inhalers, Epipen/Anapen, defibrillation, moving casualties using extrication and immobilisation devices, using torniquets and haemostatic dressing etc.

On completionOn successful completion of the course, Students will be issued with a nationally recognised statement of attainment in Provide Advanced First Aid HLTAID014 which is valid for 3 years and the CPR component is valid for 12 months.
