Mental Health First Aid Training
Approximately 20% of Australian adults experience a common mental illness each year. Completing a Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Course will help you develop the skills to support a friend, family member or co-worker. Having Mental Health First Aid skills means that you can assist someone developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis and make a real difference to your community. The course teaches participants how to use an evidence-based action plan to assist people who are: developing a mental health problem, including depression, anxiety, psychosis, substance use problems, and eating disorders (in youth course only), experiencing a worsening of an existing mental health problem, or in a mental health crisis, until appropriate professional help is received or the crisis resolves.
This course does not form part of a Vocational Education Qualification. Accreditation is provided by Mental Health First Aid Australia (https://mhfa.com.au/)
